Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Rods have the highest concentrations of chrome, nitrogen, and molybdenum, which are all critical for protecting the surface of the rod from corrosion in crevices and pits. In addition to being extremely resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chromium cracking, and easy handling, Duplex Steel UNS S32205 Rods also possess specific silent characteristics, such as high strength, good weldability, and formability. Generally, duplex steel round bars are hot worked between 954 and 1149 degrees Celsius (1750 degrees Fahrenheit). Because Duplex Steel 2205 Round Bars can precipitate brittle micro-constituents above 300 degrees C, nor is it suitable for use below -50 degrees C due to its transition from ductile to brittle, it is generally not suitable for use at high temperatures.
