Stainless Steel 316 Paddle Spacer

A Paddle Spacer is the open half of a Spectacle Blind. They are usually made of one solid metal disc attached to a thin length of metal on the end to serve as a handle. They are often made from one solid metal disc. When the piping system is to be restored to operation, a Paddle Spacer is used instead of a Paddle Blind, which has an opening through the center of its body. They take the place of a Paddle Blind when the piping system is to be reopened. The thicknesses offered by RatnaExports.com are based on ASME B16.48 specifications and are designed to deal with any pressure–temperature combination that an ASME flange can handle. For Paddle Spacers, the hole diameter in the handle is 1/2 inch for handles of 1 inch wide and 3/4 inch for handles of 1 1/2 inch wide. ASME B16.48 prohibits using indicator or bolt holes in the handles of Paddle Blinds, but this option is available if required by the purchaser. If the order is placed on RatnaExports.com, one coat of standard shop primer will be applied to all carbon steel line blinds unless otherwise specified. Mill finish is the standard finish; however, other surface finishes are also available on request. It is standard for the materials of our line blinds to be SA516 Gr.70, 304 Stainless Steel, or 316 Stainless Steel, although other alloys can be supplied upon request.
